I Was Ready to Accept Her Until DNA Test, Deji Adeleke
In a move to finally put an end to years of social media speculation, billionaire businessman Dr. Deji Adeleke has broken his silence regarding the Deji Adeleke DNA test Davido paternity saga. During an emotional press conference held at his Lagos residence on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, the patriarch of the Adeleke family revealed that he was initially open to welcoming 12-year-old Anuoluwapo into his home. “I have 14 grandchildren; what is one more?” the billionaire remarked, emphasizing that he told his son, David (Davido), that if science proved the girl was his granddaughter, he would “gladly accept and spoil her” just like his other grandchildren.
The controversy, which has lingered since 2014, resurfaced recently after the minor, Mitchelle Anuoluwapo, made a public plea on Instagram for a DNA test to resolve the “identity crisis” and bullying she has reportedly faced at school. Dr. Adeleke recounted how he first became aware of the claim over a decade ago when he received a DHL package from Ibadan containing a birth certificate and a letter from the child’s grandmother. Despite Davido’s firm insistence at the time that he had never met the mother, Ayo Labinjo, Dr. Adeleke mandated a series of scientific tests to ensure total transparency.
To ensure the integrity of the process, Dr. Adeleke personally coordinated multiple DNA tests. He explained that saliva samples not blood were taken from both Davido and the child at Vedic Lifecare Hospital in Lekki, Lagos, with the analysis conducted at a partner laboratory in South Africa. The billionaire displayed the original report to journalists, which stated a “0.00% probability of paternity.” Not satisfied with just one result, he offered to fund two additional tests at separate reputable facilities in the United States and another in Lagos to eliminate any doubt. All subsequent tests returned the same result: Davido is not the biological father.
The elder Adeleke also used the briefing to address the role of misinformation in the dispute. He alleged that controversial social media personality Kemi Olunloyo had been “impersonating” the minor and her mother online to sustain the narrative for financial gain. Dr. Adeleke read out messages from the child’s maternal aunt in Abuja, who apologized to the family and claimed that Olunloyo was managing the Instagram accounts without their consent. He warned that the family is now considering legal action for defamation, noting that “it is dangerous for anyone’s DNA profile to be in the public domain.”
While the mother, Ayo Labinjo, continues to dispute the findings and has called for an independent test supervised by the U.S. Embassy, Dr. Adeleke maintained that “science has settled it.” Despite the negative results, the billionaire disclosed that he had quietly supported the child’s education and provided financial aid to the mother for years out of compassion a fact he kept hidden even from Davido. With five negative tests now on record, the Adeleke family insists that while they remain philanthropic, they will no longer allow their name to be dragged through a dispute that science has repeatedly debunked.
