The peace of the rural community was shattered when Gunmen Storm Plateau mining camps in a coordinated assault that left 12 miners dead, five others fighting for their lives in a nearby hospital, and three individuals forcibly taken into the wilderness.

The attackers, described by survivors as heavily armed and tactical, arrived at the mining site under the cover of darkness. Without warning, they opened fire on the unsuspecting workers who were either resting or engaged in late-shift activities. The rapid gunfire created a scene of absolute chaos, with many miners attempting to flee into the surrounding bushes while others were trapped within the camp perimeter. By the time the assault subsided, a dozen bodies lay scattered across the site, marking one of the deadliest targeted attacks on economic hubs in the region this year.

Local community leaders have expressed deep frustration over the recurring nature of these tragedies. Eyewitnesses noted that the five survivors who sustained various degrees of gunshot wounds are currently receiving emergency medical attention, though their conditions remain critical. The abduction of three additional miners has heightened the anxiety in Bashar, as families wait in agony for any communication regarding their safety. Security personnel have reportedly been deployed to the area to track the assailants and secure the mining site, which serves as a major source of livelihood for hundreds of locals.
