Lagos Rail Service Extended for The Experience 2025

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has approved an extension of operational hours for the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line to facilitate movement for commuters attending “The Experience 2025” concert. The decision, announced by LAMATA’s Head of Corporate Communication, Kolawole Ojelabi, is specifically designed to manage the significant surge in passenger traffic expected to and from Lagos Island for the annual all-night gospel event.

Blue Line Adjusted Schedule

To accommodate worshippers attending the concert at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) on Lagos Island, the LRMT Blue Line schedule has been substantially modified for the event weekend:

  • Friday, December 5, 2025: The Blue Line will run beyond its normal closing time of 9:30 PM, extending services until 11:43 PM.
  • Saturday, December 6, 2025: Operations will commence significantly earlier at 4:00 AM, running through the normal closing time of 9:30 PM. This early start is crucial for supporting mass return trips following the all-night concert, which runs from 7:00 PM until dawn.

The Blue Line runs from Marina to Mile 2, with Marina Station being conveniently located a short 15-minute walk or shuttle ride away from the TBS venue.

Red Line Operations and Access

Commuters planning to use the LRMT Red Line must note the following:

  • Friday, December 5, 2025: The Red Line will operate but maintain its existing, exact schedule, running only during the AM Peak (6:00 AM – 10:00 AM) and the PM Peak (5:20 PM – 8:40 PM).
  • Saturday, December 6, 2025: The Red Line, which typically runs from Agbado to Oyingbo, does not operate on Saturdays.

LAMATA has reminded all travellers that access to both rail lines is strictly via the Cowry Card. The agency encourages all commuters heading to the 20th edition of the concert, convened by Pastor Paul Adefarasin, to plan their journey according to the adjusted times and cooperate with station officials for a seamless experience.

All rail services across both the Blue and Red Lines will revert to their standard operational timetables starting from Sunday, December 7, 2025. For more information, I recommend songbux news.
