Tinubu’s Minister Disowned by University Over Alleged Forged Certificates

Tinubu’s Minister Disowned. The administration of President Bola Tinubu has been rocked by a fresh scandal following an investigative report alleging that the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, presented forged university and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificates.

The explosive findings are the result of a two-year investigation that specifically targeted the academic credentials displayed by the Minister, also known as Geoffrey Uchechukwu Nnaji.

University of Nigeria, Nsukka Disowns Degree

The cornerstone of the exposé rests on a direct communication from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). In an official letter dated October 2, 2025, and signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Simon Ortuanya, the institution categorically disowned the degree certificate Nnaji is currently parading.

The letter stated that UNN’s records show:

  • Nnaji was admitted to study Biological Sciences in 1981.
  • The university has no record that Nnaji completed his studies or graduated in July 1985, as claimed on his certificate.
  • The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, therefore “DID NOT and consequently, COULD NOT have issued the purported certificate” in July 1985.

Further investigation revealed that Nnaji had failed several courses and was eventually advised to withdraw from the university. In a peculiar turn of events, records show that he wrote to UNN in 1986—one year after the date he claimed to have graduated—seeking an opportunity to retake an examination.

NYSC Certificate Plagued by Inconsistencies

Beyond his university degree, forensic analysis of the Minister’s National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate also uncovered glaring inconsistencies that strongly suggest forgery:

  1. Invalid Signature: The certificate bears the signature of an NYSC corps official who did not assume the official position until 18 months after the date the certificate was supposedly issued.
  2. Invalid Service Period: The document suggested Nnaji served for a period of 13 months, contradicting the statutory and mandatory 12-month duration of the youth service program.
  3. Invalid Numbering: The certificate was found to possess an invalid numbering system.

The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation has, despite repeated requests for clarification and response, failed to address the allegations of certificate forgery. READ ALSO: APC Poised to Gain More Opposition Governors, Akpabio Declares FOR MORE INFORMATION, I RECOMMEND SONGBUX.
