Afrobeats icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has forcefully denied widespread reports alleging his arrest in the United Kingdom following a purported altercation with his new wife, Natasha Osawaru.
The rumours, which gained traction through claims made by a social media commentator, suggested that the couple had a heated argument shortly after arriving in the UK on Thursday, October 2, 2025, for the start of his scheduled tour. The reports escalated the situation, claiming the dispute culminated in an incident at their hotel, with the police allegedly called and the singer being taken away.
Singer Cites ‘Medical Emergency’ for No-Show

Reacting to the swirling speculation, 2Baba, who recently celebrated his 50th birthday, addressed the controversy directly in a video posted to his social media channels. The singer appeared alongside Natasha and another individual, laughing off the arrest claims.
Instead of an altercation, 2Baba attributed his failure to appear for his scheduled performance to a “medical emergency.”
“Please, if you don’t know anything, don’t talk. I am tired of this allegedly,” 2Baba stated in the video, adding, “We had a medical emergency. It was tough. To the show organisers and everybody that came out, I appreciate you. We go regroup and make something beautiful happen.”
Despite the singer’s outright denial and explanation, the social media commentator who initially broke the news maintained that his sources were accurate, even going as far as to share alleged private messages concerning the show’s organizers and the incident. The conflicting accounts have left the true nature of the events in London subject to continued media and fan speculation.
